Apple Releases Smaller 4GB iPod Shuffle with 'VoiceOver' and Playlist Support

Apple released two new iPod Shuffles with an even smaller design today. The updates were predicted at the very last minute this morning.

４ＧＢのiPod Shuffleが発売され、機能として曲名読み上げ機能とプレイリスト機能をサポートします。。


The new 4GB devices are priced at $79 and can hold up to 1000 songs. These new iPod Shuffles adopt a more vertical shape than the previous model, but are smaller overall. The previous generation iPod shuffles remain available for purchase.



4GBのipod shuffleは79$で発売され、1000曲程度が格納できます。
以前のモデルより縦のラインが変化しています。


Apple also added a new "VoiceOver" feature that allows the iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names. All of the controls are located on the earphone cord.

"Imagine your music player talking to you, telling you your song titles, artists and playlist names," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPod and iPhone™ Product Marketing. "The amazingly small new iPod shuffle takes a revolutionary approach to how you listen to your music by talking to you, also making it the first iPod shuffle with playlists."

Using the VoiceOver feature, the new Shuffle allows you to pick and choose between different playlists. More details are available on Apple's iPod Shuffle section of their website. They also provide a Guided Tour video (direct QuickTime link) that walks through the new features.



Appleはプレイリスト、歌手名、曲名を読み上げる機能を追加しました。
また、今回が初めてのプレイリストが扱えるiPodShuffleとなった。

とのことです。
マラソン中に使えそうです。。。

iBluetooth 1.0.7 レビュー

iBluetooth入れてみました。
＃JailBreak前提です。ご注意。

一応、作者のコメント転載します。

アプリの公開方法はCydia経由です。

Q: Will i be able to send any file?
A: Yes, image support is built in, and the file viewer allow you to
send ANY file on the device.
どんなファイルでも遅れますか？
iPhoneで見れる画像はOKですし、ファイルタイプは問いません。

Q: Will i be able to send music?

A: Music can already be sent by selecting an MP3/wav/aiff file from
the file system. However, i’ll include a music library to send ipod
syncronized songs directly in the near future.
音楽は？
もちろん可能です。iPodのファイルとの連携は今後実装予定です。

And, the most important question:


Q: Why i have to pay 3.99 euro for this app?
A: Mainly, because apple didn’t want to include a full bluetooth stack
to be used by the developers. Implementing a complete and stable stack
(with all the bluetooth profiles) is nearly impossible for me in a
short time, so i’ve considered the idea of buying a complete (and
well-tested) stack. Now, there are only 3 stack that supports almost
all bluetooth profiles: BlueMagic, BCHS, ClarinoxBlue and, of course,
all of these are VERY EXPENSIVE.
So, i’ve decided to make you pay* this application, so i can buy one
of those stack for ALL the community and implement a background daemon
that will provide a full-featured stack for ANY developer out there.

Please, understand that the “free way” is not the right way. If you
want this application “for free” then take the “a cracked version”,
but you’re essentially removing yourself the possibility to have more
features, such as: A2DP (Audio stereo), Serial Port (needed for
bluetooth gps), DUN & LAP (internet navigation), implemented in a
small time and used by all of the developer out there: think at xgps
developers adding support for bluetooth gps devices or other free
developers adding bluetooth functionality to native apps like
contacts, photos… or any other infinite idea that developer can have!
And, yes, writing a complete stack is always possible, but how much do
you think it will take? Look, i’ve spent 3 month only for the obex
part… and that’s a small part: it’s just one (ONE) profile out of 27!
なぜ商用なのですか？
Bluetoothの実装には手間暇がかかるため、既に商用として売られているBluetoothスタックを外から買ってきて実装したいと思っています。購入できたらバックグラウンドで動作させて色々なアプリケーションに役立てたいと思います。その購入資金源にします。実際、３ヶ月で実装できたのは２７もあるスタックのうち、１つだけですし・・・。

とのことです。まぁ気持ちは分からなくはないですが。
Cydiaで購入するアプリはCydiaStoreで購入。米国Amazonアカウントがいったりと少し面倒です・・・。

で、導入しましたが、インストールはCydia経由でインストールするだけです。

Bluetooth送付時に利用する認証用のPINなどの設定も自由で、送付するファイルはファイルシステムをたどって指定するようなインタフェースでWildeyesと似たインタフェースでした。
動作的には結構使いやすいという印象です。
写真はライブラリ画面から選択出来るのでこちらも使いやすいです。
個人的にはiPhoneで手軽に他携帯などと写真のやり取りが出来るなら便利かも？
とおもいました。あとから試してみようと思います。





で、スピードですが、Fstreamが生成するWavファイルを試しに送信してみました。
大きさは１０分ほどのwavファイルで150MBほどです。
スループットを眺めていると平均で50kb/sでしょうか・・・。
少し遅く感じますが、Bluetoothだし。もちろん、途中でやめました（笑）



今後、個人的にはA2DPまでは頑張って欲しいと切に思いますし、他携帯と写真交換できるなら素敵なアプリとして利用できるかもしれません。

ShapeUp Club（書くだけダイエット、レコーディングダイエット）

ある日、書くだけダイエットという言葉を耳にしました。
食べたものを書くだけでダイエット出来るらしい。。。
こういった用途こそ、普段持ち運ぶiphone上で管理するのがやりやすそう！
半ば、書くだけダイエットをしたいのか、iphoneの新しいアプリを試したいのかわからない心境になりながらもアプリ選択。

最終的には私が必要とした機能は以下の通りです。


計画を立てれる
　・当初の計画を立てて、目標設定が出来る。
日常
　・体重の記録・グラフ化
　・食べたものの記録（一番基本的な機能）
　・摂取カロリーの記録・グラフ化
　　　→料理がDB化されており、カロリーが反映される
　・料理の写真を撮影し入力を支援できる


色々と調べましたが、体重をグラフ化するアプリケーションはそれなりにありました。
この場合、カロリーや食べたものが十分記録出来ないのが物足りなさそうで除外です。
また、メモを手帳のように記入するアプリもありました。この場合、すべての物は日付別に記入出来るのでよいのですが、最終的にカロリー計算を考えると憂鬱になりやめました。
iphoneでページをめくって、そのページから数字を拾って、加工するような作業はしたくありません・・・。

で、最終的にいきついたのがShapeupClubです。

大前提をいっておきますと、、、英語です。アプリ自体・・・。
＃多少困るという程度でなく英語です・・・。




このアプリ、まずは自分の情報を登録します。
身長、体重、そして、自分の体のBefore/Afterの写真（笑）
で、目標体重の設定を行います。
そうすると、自動で1日あたりの目標摂取カロリーが算出されます。

私の場合には、1,329kcal / day と設定されました。
これを目指してがんばるということですが結構少ないです・・・。1329kcalは。
マクドナルド、居酒屋いくと1000kcalくらい行きます・・・。
そういう日はレコーディング（書くだけ）と割り切って食べるわけですが。




次に食事した分のカロリーを入力します。
入力は

朝食、昼食、夕食、その他、運動

と入力を行い、摂取カロリーから運動した分を引いたものが目標に対してどうかを○×がつくようになっています。
また、カロリーもDB化されており、選択したらある程度自動で入力が完了します。

DBにない場合にはオンラインDBからも引っ張れます。
このDBは利用者により更新されていくようですので拡張されていきます。

そのため、信憑性には問題があるかもしれません。あくまで事故責任で利用です。

また、英語です・・・・。

どうしてもなければ料理を自分で登録したりすることもできますし、Custom機能を利用して、カロリーだけを入力することも可能です。
マスタに拘らずにCustomで目分量を入れるだけでもいいと私は割り切りだしています（笑

入力方法の具体的なオペレーションは、朝食であれば、




Breakfast選択
　→Add food to breakfasst 選択
　　　→Favorite
　　　　　　*Coffe 1cup
　　　　　　 一度入れたものはお気に入りに登録できます。
　　　→Search
　　　　　 　アプリに登録されたマスタから引っ張ります。
　　　→Meals
いくつかの食材等を組み合わせてMealとして登録管理できます。
　　　→Custom
　　　　　　*280kcal
　　　　　 　カロリーのみいれます。
　　　→SearchOnline
オンラインDBより食事を検索します。　
　　　　　　　実際の登録は再度、Searchより実施します。



で、ある時期になるとアプリ側から体重測定のお知らせがきますので
登録を実施していきます。グラフイメージはご覧の通りです。
表示単位はProfile登録時に選択可能です。

Historyを見れば過去のカロリー、未来でこれからの目標とする
食べ物も登録可能です。

まだ、使用して2週間程度ですが継続して使おうと思います。

TB内容と違う情報でTBしている・・・

TBサイトよりお越し頂いた方申し訳ありません m(__)m
過去の記事を引っ張ってトラックバックが打たれているようです。

顛末としては、ツールでScribeFireを使ってBLOG記事を書くように変更し、
TB機能も本ツールを利用していたのですが、どうも、実際にPOSTした内容と
TBする内容が異なってあがる時があるようです・・・。
詳細不明ですが、少し原因探ってみます。

過去の記事に引かれてこられた方、申し訳ありせんです。。。

Safari４インストールしてみました。

ダウンロードサイトは以下からです。
特に障害になるような事はありませんでした。

１点気になったのはメニューが日本語化されていませんでしたので、
英語で気になる方は導入を控えられた方が良いと思います。

Javascriptが早いというふれこみで始まったSafariですが、ベンチマークをしている
サイトがありましたのでパフォーマンスはそちらをご参考ください。

クィックレビュー：Safari 4のここに注目、ここが気になる

数字だけみても、Safariのパフォーマンスの高さは一目瞭然なのですが、
レビューの最後にはメモリ消費量が高いという風に締めくくられていました。

右から２番目が実メモリですが248Mですか・・・。
iTunesの倍ほど消費しているというのは少し気にかかります。
私のMacBookは２GBほど搭載しているのであまり気にはならないのですが、
メモリに余裕が無い方は要注意です。。。。

使い勝手はカバーフローとの融合についてみました。
お気に入りもカバーフロー化されていますが、Cmd＋tで別タブが開く時に、
自分が良く開くサイトが一覧表示されます。
面倒なのでキャプチャとりました。




圧倒されてしまいます・・・
まぁ、日頃巡回するサイトが決まっていれば無用の長物なのですが・・・。
ただし、利用するインタフェースがiphoneやTVなどの場合には効果を発揮しそうです！
とりあえず、引き続き日常的に利用してみようと思います。

GoogleCalendarとの連携パワーアップのTouchToDO 2.0!!

とりあえず、TouchToDOを購入したもののお蔵入りになっていました・・・。Googleとの連携も前バージョンではいまいちでしたが、今回の改定でずいぶんと使えそうな感じです。とりあえず時間対応してくれただけでも心が動きます。
あと、後述する通知なども考慮に入れられました。普段はToDO(Toodledo連携)を利用していますが、乗り換えれると思っています(なんだかGoogleと仲良くしておいた方が後々良さそうだし :) )

以降は簡単な使い方についての説明になります。

特徴としては、
・アプリ起動しなくても通知が出来るようになりました（Nativeのカレンダーに登録する）
・GoogleCalendarとの連携ができます。
　→TouchToDO:というタグのようなものは連携時にはなくなっていました。
　→GoogleCalendarとの連携時はPush-SYNCの設定が必要です。
　　　　　・結果的にこれでカレンダーアプリと連携します。
・分かりやすく、最小限の操作で利用できます。
・時間サポートしました。


Sync With Google™ Calendar

One of the key features of TouchTodo is the ability to sync with Google™
Calendar. Any Todo/Project with due date can be synced to Google™
Calendar.



Note:

- If your account has multiple calendar instances, TouchTodo will prompt you to pick one during sync.

- If the Google™ calendar instance you sync to has been set up to do
Push-Sync to your iPhone, those todo will show up immediately in your
iPhone's native calendar.

- If you use Google™ app calendar, you will need to fully spell out
your user name (in the form of email address). This is contray to the
case where you sync to the default Google™ calendar whereby you can
omit the "@gmail.com" part.



Googleカレンダーとの連携を行う場合には設定されているカレンダーのうちのひとつを選択するようになっています。
私はToDOというカレンダーを新規で一つ作り管理し始めています。


iPhone Sync Set Up
You can set up Google™ Push Sync to push all synced todo to your iPhone's native calendar in real-time.

Step 1. If you don't have a Google™ calendar, you need to set up one at www.google.com/calendar

Step 2. Follow instructions here to set up Google™ Push Sync for iPhone / iPod Touch.

After
set up, all Todo synced from TouchTodo will be pushed real-time to your
iPhone's native calendar. You then can be reminded using iPhone's sound
and vibration of the synced todo has a reminder settings.

Note:
-
If you have multiple Google™ calendars, you need to sync to the one
that you set up for Push Sync with iPhone in order to push those todo
to your device.
- For Google™ app calendar users, your administrator need to enable Exchange ActiveSync© for this to work.
-
Before you set up push-sync, you need to do a one-time backup of your
iPhone calendar, you can either manually recreate those todo in your
Google™ calendar, or follow the instructions in Step 2.
- In
addition to calendar, Google™ also offer push-sync for emails and
contacts. If you do not want push-sync for emails and contacts, make
sure to uncheck these two options during set up.
- For iPod Touch user, you need wi-fi connection to sync to iPod Touch's native calendar.
ここで、少し種明かしがあります。このアプリの前提はGoogleが提供するGoogleSync for iphoneのサービスを利用することです。

TouchToDO → GoogleCalendar → (GoogleSYC) → iphone native のカレンダー → 通知実施

というカラクリです。ので、TouchToDOが通知をバックグラウンドでハンドルしているわけではありません。
というわけで、GoogleCalendarとカレンダーが何らかの方法で連携していればOKということですね。


Sync Interface

The interface for sync is very simple. The only options are "Remember
Password" and "Recovery Mode". You hopefully will never need to use the
"Recovery Mode". This mode
is to be used when all data in TouchTodo has been wiped out and
you need to recover from Google™ Calendar.

リカバリーモードは注意しましょう。根こそぎGoogleCalendarと連携してiphoneに入っているToDOを消してしまいます・・・。

Due to the http
communication payload size to/from Google™ Calendar, it is highly
recommended to use wifi (instead of 3G) to do Sync. Sync may take up to
10 minutes or more if you have hundreds of Todos.



During
sync, a progress view will appear and it may last couple minutes
depending on the network connection and number to TouchTodos that are
needed for sync.

Sync with iCal™ and Outlook can be done via Google™
Calendar with simple set up.

Todo

The landing page for Todo shows a summary view of how many Todo you
have, categorized in "Today", "Tomorrow", "Next", etc.
e.g.
the following view says you have 4 Todo due today. You also have 11
more for tomorrow. Those completed todo are shown in gray numbers. In
sample below, you have total 15 (12+3) todo that you create for someday
(which means don't have a due date). Out of these 15, 12 are incomplete
and 3 are completed.












To add a Todo, simply tap the "Add" button.



基本的なGTD管理です。内容は。使い勝手は以前のバージョンと変わらないです。使いにくくはありません。

As
you start to type in, you'll notice that there may be prompts
underneath. Those are the "guessing" by the app based on your typing
history in this app.
To chose the prompt, simply tapping on the
prompt sentence. If there are multiple prompts, you may tap on the
arrow on the right to see more.
There is a reserved word
"[Contact]", whenever you tapped on a prompted sentence that contains
that keyword, you can pick one contact from your iPhone contact
database.
ToDOでの入力は過去の履歴が利用できます。
コンタクト先(電話)も登録する事ができます。

Also notice that on the right hand side there is a priority bar that can toggle between different priorities if you tap on it.
右の３段がさねのものはプライオリティ。タップの度に重要度を変更しまｓ。




You can assign a due time for Todo as well as duration.


時間設定(期限)も可能。Durationも時間対応しました。

You can assign reminder to a Todo that has a due date/time.
Note that the reminder only works for those synced todo.


こちらは通知設定の画面。

Todos
are organized as "Today" (for those due today), "Tomorrow" (for those
due tomorrow), "Next" (for those due after tomorrow), "Someday" (for
those don't have a due date), "Overdue" (for those past due and
incomplete), "All" (all above).
If a Todo has completed and the due date has also past, it'll automatically be archived into "Archived" list.
完了したものや、時間が超過したものは、Archivedに格納されます。

Following is a sample "All" list of Todo




From the list, tapping "Edit" will make it a standard edit mode that allows you to delete and sort.




From
the list, tapping on each Todo will go into a detail view of Todo.
Notice there is a "Copy" button that allows you to copy this existing
Todo to a new one with the same content. The newly created Todo will be
highlighted in the list view. The highlight will be gone after you edit
it.

If a Todo is part of a Project, it'll show this information. Below in a "Tomorrow" list, we'll see two Todos like that.


Project中のToDOも同様に他のToDOと同じに扱われます。



Project



The Project list view is shown below. Notice that each project also shows how many Todo it contains are completed or incomplete.



プロジェクトの中に複数のTODOを作成し、進捗を管理する事ができます。

To add a Project, simply tap the "Add" button.


プロジェクトの管理画面はごらんのとおりです。

When inputting Project Name, you have the opportunity to apply one of three predefined templates.
Applying
one of these templates will automatically add a predefined set of
fields to your project. Of course, you can also choose to create field
by yourself.





プロジェクトには予め３つの雛形テンプレートが用意されています。
たとえばVacationPlanを手元でためしたところ、

  • 場所決定（メモ）
  • 予約（TODO)
  • 準備（TODO)
  • 計画(TODO)

といったToDO管理が組まれます。もちろん自由に編集可能。

A
Project can have unlimited number of fields. Each field can be one of
the three predefined types: Notes, Todo List, or Contact List.



An input-complete sample Project is shown below:





Search



TouchTodo features a powerful full-text search engine that searches both Todo and Project.
Notice
that there is also a floating filter bar (just like the one in list
view of Todo and Project) which allows you to filter completed,
incomplete or both.

Sort

In
any list view that contains Todo or Projects, you can shake iPhone or
iPod Touch to bring up a dialog for various sorting. You can even sort
the search result as well.


なぜか、iphoneを振るとToDOのソートができます ^^;
これは前バージョンと変わらず。

新型iphoneの噂も出ながら既存の３Giphoneが叩き売られるキャンペーンが始まりそうです。

８GBが2年しばりで実質の無料とのことです。

既存ユーザにとってはNews２の５９８５円→4410円のパケット定額料金が下がるという方。
これは純粋に1500円ほど月額費用が下がることになりますね :D

Safari4 Release!

新しいSafariがβリリースされましたという話。
特にJavascriptの処理が4.2倍になったという高速化が売りなようです。

through web history or bookmarks; and Tabs on Top, to make tabbed
browsing easier and more intuitive.

さっとみた感じでは、BookMarkしたサイトのCoverFlowLikeな画面が魅力的です。

auがiphone絵文字対応！

AUもiphoneには気を使っているという話。

EZwebのEメール、絵文字互換サービスがiPhoneに対応 　KDDIおよび沖縄セルラーは、EZwebにおいて、絵文字入りメールの変換対象にiPhone 3Gを追加し、25日の12時より提供を開始する。
　今回の対応により、EZwebの絵文字の入ったEメールを、ソフトバンクモバイルのiPhone
3G向けメール「Eメール（i）」あてに送信すると絵文字の変換が行われる。本体のソフトウェアをバージョン2.2にアップデートしているiPhone
3Gで絵文字入りのメールを受信できる。 　なお、iPhone
3Gから絵文字入りメールをEZwebに送信した際の絵文字変換サービスは、ソフトバンクモバイルより26日から提供される。

なんだか絵文字のやりとりをするのにキャリア毎に調整しないといけないとか面倒な話ですよね・・・。
よくも悪くも日本という感じでしょうか・・・。

Google gearでGmailをオフラインにという話は出ていましたがすでにiphoneでも動作が確認出来るところまで来ているんですね。
Webとクライアントの垣根がどんどんなくなってきますね。
クライアントアプリでいいのでは？という話はありますが、やはりOSフリーになったりするところは見逃せませんね。

ソフトバンク選手にiphone？

ソフトバンクの野球選手にiphoneが配布されるとのことです。
　「iPhone（アイフォーン）補強」の全容が発表された。開幕までに1、2軍の全選手と首脳陣、スタッフ約100人に約7万円相当の端末を配布する予
定。端末には専用ソフトが組み込まれ、過去の試合画像を自由に見ることができる。この日はソフトバンクモバイルの社員が訪れ、選手側の意見を尋ねた。体験
版を試した巽投手は「どんどん活用したい」と話した上で「いい時と悪い時の2つの映像を同時に再生して比べられたら」と要望を出していた。

選手の良い時と悪い時の前後比較などに活用されるみたいです。
全ての試合映像をどこかのサーバにためておいて、ダウンロードして見れるようにするという仕組みでしょうか。２つの動画を一緒に引っ張っておいての比較まではむずかしいそうですが・・・ ^^;

なんだか、Macでサーバ立てた方がiPhoneと連携考えても相性がいい場合も多いので気になります。
２００９年のKeyNoteで何の発表もなかった時にずいぶんと落胆させて頂いたので過度の期待はしないことにしますが^^;

BLOG休業して約2年・・・。ひとまず元記事も可能な限り移行して再出発。というより、
iphoneのメモ書きとして自分管理したいだけという話もありますが ^^;
