私が気になるニュースはMacMiniくらいでしょうか？MacMiniはiTVと競合するため、廃止になるのでは？という噂もあったほどだったので、ここで更新が入るのは意外な感じがしました。
あとは、、、iPod関連ないですね・・・。9月中にフラッシュメモリベースのiPodVideoが出るという噂があったのですが、触れられていないようで。さてさて、何を買うべきか・・・。
MSからMac版のRemoteDesktopがリリースされているようです。

少し情報が錯綜していますが、以下の写真がiPod nanoのものではないかという情報すらあります。いPodVideoだと思うのですが、何せ詳細は不明です。
ちなみにFullScreenは期待が薄いですね。今年中という噂を良く見る気がします。
なんだか、最近の話題はiPhoneばかりで、日本にも上陸していないので少しApple関連のニュースも冷ややかに眺めていました。

ちなみに、私が以前から所有していた第4世代のiPodが故障しているので買い替えを検討してます。
もうiPodFamilyから抜けれる自信がないので新製品が早く出るのを期待してます。

There have been rumors that the next "6th Generation" iPod could be released as early as August 7th, 2007. According to some sources, the new iPod may still be housed in the traditional click-wheel design rather than moving to a full touch-screen design like the new iPhone.
An anonymous source now claims that the iPod interface will be revamped to a more visual interface, with iPhone-like design elements and transitions. The new interface will incorporate Ken Burns album art transitions, Cover Flow and a new split-screen interface. The overall look and feel will be familiar to current iPod owners but have the additional visual flair.
It's not yet clear if OS X is hidden behind this new user interface, but Steve Jobs had recently revealed that they are working on OS X based iPods.
The following interface videos have also been provided, and though their authenticity can't be guaranteed, they certainly look convincing. The Beatles' albums appear to play a large role in the interface videos, suggesting that online Beatles sales will launch concurrently with the 6G iPod's release.

DigiTimes claims that Wintek has been given the contract award for producing the the panels of Apples upcoming iPod refresh, which DigiTimes notes will be in August. The touch screens will reportedly be similar to the iPhone's touch screen.
Steve Jobs made comments during a town hall meeting of Apple Employees that the Mac OS X group was working on unreleased iPods as well as the desktop OS and iPhone OS.
Analyst Gene Munster recently chimed in, stating he believed that the updated iPods would come by Macworld 2008.

どうも記事によるとアメリカでは端末に$100ほどしか使わないようですが、$300になると市場が動きそうだということです。たしかに携帯で6万は高い！！という印象ですよね。まずは。携帯の機能とセットなもんだから、日本で考えてもライフタイムが長くて2年。勿体無い感が私には強いです。だからこそ、単体iPodで出てくれれば即買いするのに・・・。と、独り言。
ようやく、iPhoneで採用したMacOSXベースのiPodの噂話が流れはじめました。

Speaking to clients in a research note Monday, investment research firm Piper Jaffray said it believes Apple will soon introduce a new breed of video iPods based around the same technologies used in the iPhone handset.

最近、知り合いにMacをお勧めする機会があったのですが、Leopardの件もあるし、もう少し待ってもらった方がよさそうですね(笑

According to CrunchGear’s ‘trusted source’ that the upcoming MacBooks which are expected to be released around October will support the iPhone’s multi-touch technology built into their touchpads.
CrunchGear Says:
The feature will be built into the touchpads, allowing you to navigate through your notebook’s files, applications, etc. the same way you can on the iPhone. (Yes, I know you can already scroll with them, that’s nothing new. I’m talking about all the other finger gestures that can be done on the iPhone’s screen)
On June 20th, CrunchGear reported that the upcoming MacBooks will be about half the thickness of the current models and will be made from new plastics or materials.
adsenseのホームページ上でPINナンバーが分からないと広告が消えてしまうのだそうです orz
前々から多少気になってはいましたが、ほったらかしていました(汗
消えてから真剣に考えて、ホームページを読むと、ナンバーが分からない場合は郵送をお願いする
ことになります。adsenseにログインして、PING送信というリンクがあるので、そこを押します。
そうすると、２，３週間で郵送で送られてきます・・・。
Googleが郵送というと、何か釈然としなかったりもしますが。
ボタン押して10日ほどした今日、やっと手紙が届きました。
薄い紙をテープで止めたチープな郵送でした・・・。
中身に肝心のナンバーが書いてますので、adsense上に入力。
現在は広告も無事復活したようです。
ちなみに、広告がないから更新が鈍くなっているわけではありません(笑

On the upside
- The iPhone's virtual keyboard "turned out in our tests to be a nonissue." After five days of use, Walt "was able to type on it as quickly and accurately as he could on the Palm Treo he has used for years."
- iPhone does work overseas, but only via an AT&T roaming plan.
- The initial iPhone model cannot be upgraded to use the faster [3G] networks.
- When you have access to Wi-Fi, the iPhone flies on the Web. "Not only that, but the iPhone automatically switches from EDGE to known Wi-Fi networks when it finds them, and pops up a list of new Wi-Fi networks it encounters as you move."
- iPhone is thinner than the skinny Samsung BlackJack.
- While iPhone does pick up smudges, it didn't acquire a single scratch during the two-week period, even though it was tossed into Walt's pocket or briefcase (and Katie's purse) without any protective case or holster. "No scratches appeared on the rest of the body either."

No, Apple doesn’t make a black iPod Shuffle which is most likely why this Chinese knockoff made theirs with a color previously not available. According to the packaging it was designed in California but assembled (if that’s what “Assombled” means) in China, and is priced at only $14.
What’s interesting is the packaging and design look surprisingly similar to an actual iPod, but according to a translation from Le Journal du Geek who obtained the knockoff product, it’s actually made out of plastic which isn’t held together well at that.

At the KES 2007 they introduced audio acessories amongst them short cut tops or bikinis with integrated iPod control buttons. iPod buttons in jackets is nothing new, but JWin managed to created the hottest iPod outfit as of yet with these iPod bikinies. See one more photo below.
There is no information available if JWin will actually productive this iPod outfits. It could have just been a promotional thing.

基本動作が出来そうなボタンが服についているのですが、操作しにくい・・・ですよね。きっと。見えないし。
以前、Wizpyというデバイスについてここで書いたのですが、評判はイマイチのようです。
総合的に判断して、最初のリリースのwizpyは期待外れだ。ミュージックプレーヤーとして$280の価格ほどの値打ちはない。立ち向かうべきライバル 4GB iPod Nanoは$80も安いし、4GB USBフラッシュメモリドライブなら$50前後も出せば買える。とはいえ、ミュージックプレーヤーとUSBブートドライブを一体にしたスタイリッシュなデバイスを求める人やOggファイルを大量に持つ人には、wizpyの購入は視野に入る。
音楽プレーヤーとして判断すれば利用価値には値しないというのが、総評に込められている点である気がします。また、iPodにOSをインストールしてBootディスクにするためには、結構ハードル高いです。Macの人は簡単に出来ると思いますが、WindowsPCでブートしたい人は結構手を加えないといけないです。
そもそも、以前のエントリーで書いたUSBブートの話ですが、PCのBIOS時点でUSBブートが強制的に排除されていたので、他の方法考え中です・・・。何かいい方法があればいいのですが・・・。
WWDCでリリースされたWindows版のSafariが3.0.1でリリースされました。

コマンドインジェクションとXSS(クロスサイトスクリプティング)の脆弱性の改修とのことです。Webの世界はXSSを初めとしてCGIなどの対策が強化されてきています。
その中で、ブラウザ側の仕掛けが不十分なため、事故が起こることは大事件につながりかねないので、早めの対応があって安心しました。
その一方で、
の記事があがったりしてます。48時間でSafariが100万件ダウンロードされたんだとか。
勢いを感じる一方で、先に書いた脆弱性交じりのプログラムが100万件ダウンロードされていますとも読みかえれるわけで、ソフトウェアの製作にセキュリティ対応の仕組みをしっかりすることの大切さが伺えます。
個人的に今回発表されたSafariは使っていません。セキュリティ問題が気になっていたのもありますが、日本語の表示も不可とのことですので。といより、現在はMac上でもSafariを使わずにFireFox使っています。理由はWindowsと環境を合わせたいというだけだったので、将来的にはSafari統合という考えもあるかもしれません。
BlueToothが利用可能なステレオです。日本ではないけども。
BlueToothが利用可能なDOCKつき。かっこいい :D
あと、携帯の音楽がBlueTooth経由で聞けたりするらしいです。
iPodが無線で同期できるかまでは書いてませんが、いいセンスしてます。
今度はiPod＋スーツです。

説明を読む限りでは、iPodを内ポケットぽいところに入れて、
スーツに格納されているiPod接続ケーブルをiPodに接続。
付属しているコントローラ(早送り、スキップ、再生、音声調整など)でiPod操作。
といった感じでしょうか？
あと、ヘッドフォンの線も巻き取れると書いてあります(笑)
ここまで衣服に密着したiPodアクセサリーは初めて見ました。
次に何が出てくるかもはや予想できませんね :P
まだ3週間近くあるのですが、徹夜組の話がもう出てきているようです。

サンフランシスコに住むＩＴコンサルタントのダニエル・エラン・ディルガーさん（３３）は、発売開始前にアップルストアの店頭で徹夜する覚悟だという。タッチパネルで操作し、音楽や動画の再生機能のほか、インターネットブラウザーなども搭載している「ｉＰｈｏｎｅ」を手に入れるため、友人らも誘って「キャンプ生活する」としている。
トロントを拠点とする消費者調査団体ソリューションズ・リサーチ・グループが行ったオンライン調査によると、ディルガーさんのように、平均以上の所得を得ている大卒の若い男性が「ｉＰｈｏｎｅ」の典型的な支持者だという。

発売する店側でも対応が大変だと思います。しかし、6万から7万する携帯電話。
日本と販売方法が違う海外では受け入れられやすいのかもしれません。
海外携帯事情の商流と日本の場合との違いがよく分かってませんが m(__)m
日本で6万円の携帯電話が発売されると受け入れられるのか・・・と思ってしまいます。
もちろん、今の日本の携帯電話の発売価格も同じくらいの費用がかかっているのとは思いますが。
これで、反応見て、次はヨーロッパ、アジアと広がります。
日本の場合、キャリアがどこになるのかが見所でしょうか。
iPodに同等の機能つけてくれるだけでいいんですけどもね。
＃携帯のライフサイクル早すぎるんだもの・・・
lala.com。少し反応鈍いですが、今朝ほど知りました。

米Lala.comは米国時間6月5日，米Appleのデジタル音楽管理ソフト「iTunes」の音楽ライブラリをWebにアップロードできるサービスを開始した。ユーザーは好きな場所から音楽ライブラリにアクセスしたり，「iPod」用に音楽を購入できるという。
アップロードした音楽ライブラリはインターネット接続した任意のマシンからアクセスすることが可能。他のユーザーとプレイリストを共有し，ストリーミング再生を行える。iPod対応のデジタル・フォーマットで楽曲を購入することもできる。
また同社は米Warner Music Group（WMG）と提携し，WMGの音楽コンテンツをストリーミング再生できるようにした。米メディア（New York Times）によると，Lala.comはWMGにロイヤルティを払うが，ユーザーは無料で再生できるという。
「iPodは音楽のポータビリティを一気に向上した素晴らしいプレーヤだ。当社のサービスでは，そのポータビリティにWebの利便性を統合し，普遍的なプラットフォームで音楽を楽しめるようにした」（Lala.com創設者のBill Nguyen氏）。
サービスを利用するには，同社Webサイトからダウンロードできるクライアント・ソフト「lalaplayer」と，「iTunes 7」が必要。対応OSは「Windows XP」「同Vista」および「Mac OS X v10」以降。
日本でやると著作権とか煩そうなサービスですが、ある種理想のサービスかなと思います。
結局、いろいろPCとか、ステレオとか楽曲を出力するものがたくさん手元にあるわけで、
そこの曲の同期に手間かかる人が多い。
最終的にはインターネット上に置くことが最も近い早道か・・・と思ってましたので。
家の中のNAS上でも置けばいいですが、複数台のマシンで共有するまでなかなかいけていません(Win/Mac/Linux・・・)。
iTunesとの連携もスムーズなようですし、この手のサービスはやり始めるでしょうね。
見る人が見ればすぐにばれてしまいますが、私のHPはMovableTypeを利用しています。今は3.35だったかな。とりあえず、新しいものが出たタイミングで更新させて頂いています。
そんな中、MovableType 4.0が登場したようです。第3四半期にはGPLライセンスになるとの話もあり、他BLOGツールとの競合を意識しているような感もあります。
＃もともとPERLだからソースは色々な人に見られていて、変更とかされているとは思うのですが。
で、現状は4.0はΒフェーズでサポートなどなし状態なので移行はもう少し先かなと思っています。というと、実も蓋もないので、新規にインストールしてみて、新しいMTに触れて見る事にしました。
とりあえず、ソースコードをダウンロード。
ややこしい登録などが必要ないので、気軽に出来る。
CGIが動作する場所にソースコードを置いて、mt.cgiにアクセス。まずはmt-staticのURL設定。
MT3系を触っていた人は理解しやすいと思いますが、MTを構成する静的な画像パーツやスタイルシートなどを格納する場所。
次に環境設定が正しいかのチェックスクリプトが走ります。
私の環境では問題なく動作しました。下のDisplay list of optional modules
を選択すると基本モジュール以外の状況が見れます。
お次はDB.私はMYSQLを利用しているので、MYSQLを選択。
DBサーバはGGIが動作しているサーバと同居しているならloalhostで問題ない。
DatabaseNameは新規で私は作成したため３系のものとは別指定。
そのDBにMySQLの管理ツールでユーザ作成、Grantで権限委譲。
Test ConnectionでDBとの接続確認が行えるので、確認しておきます。
DBの設定が問題なければ次のような画面がでました。
お次はメールサーバの設定。
環境に合わせて選べばいいのですが、SMTPでメールが飛ばせるならSMTPサーバを指定。
これもテストメール飛ばせたはずです。
お次に新規アカウントを作ります。
このアカウントはとりあえず管理権限を持ちます。
ユーザ作ると、DBが作成され始めます。
というわけでインストール完了。
設定ファイルを直接編集することなく導入完了しました。
とはいえ、以前のものと大幅に変わったという印象はありません。
必要な項目は入れないと仕方がないので、この辺りが限界なのかもしれませんが。

予ねてより噂話にあったFlashベースのiPodVideoですが、発売が第３Qより遅くなるかもです。

MSのZuneがiPodキラーになると言われてたりしますが、北米ではともかく、日本国内ではまったく影響なくiPod独走状態が続いている状態です。
そんな中、面白い記事を海外サイト経由で発見。

The Wizpy is a TurboLinux based media player with a OLED (organic light emitting diode) 1.7 inch display and 4GB hard drive (needs a bigger one). It will play the likes of Ogg, MP3 and Windows Media Audio formats, and to show XviD and MPEG4 video files and JPEG images. But where the Wizpy really take off is as a boot device. Plug the Wizpy into PC and upon booting said PC, you're running a TurboLinux environment on that PC. It's just like a bootable Knoppix CD or DVD, but better.
次のiPodキラーは迫っている。で、始まるこの文章。どうもWizpyはさまざまなファイルフォーマットの音声ファイルの再生が可能。また、静止画や動画フォーマットも豊富に対応。もう一つ、面白い機能はPCにさせばターボリナクスが起動し、PC環境を持ち運べるとのことです。自分のPC環境を持ち運べるというのは非常に魅力的です。
本題とはかけはなれてしまうのでなんですが。
勤め先ではシンクライアント全盛です・・・。値段が高かろうが情報セキュリティ第一の考えで結構な台数が入っています。私も移行の手続きが完了してしまったので、もうじき使い始めます。シンクライアントは情報セキュリティ対策の最後の切り札でいいのですが、いかんせん、ネットワークが切れるとただの箱という事態が発生し、あまり好きにはなれません。
で、このデバイスWizpyをみるとOSがキックされるところから始まり、HDDへの保存も行わないとのこと。ということは、一般のPCをシンクライアント化するのであれば、このデバイスがあればとりあえず、PCをブートさせて、議事録などは取得可能ということです！！なんとも画期的 :D
シンクライアント化された暁にはこれか、類似の製品の調査に走ると思います。
TurboLinuxベースなのでPHSカードのダイアルアップとかも可能かなとか色々夢が膨らみます :D
OpenOfficeがMacOSX上で動作するようになったようです。しかもX11抜きです！！画期的・・・だと私は思いますが、関係ない人には全く関係ないニュース。

Macへの移植が決定してから6年たって、OpenOffice.orgはX11がなくても動作するMacOS用のOpenFiiceをリリースした！！
とのことです。ただし、まだα版なので、データが壊れたりする可能性があるので、本番では使わないでねとの注意書きがあります。
Officeをもっていない人はとりあえずの選択肢に最上の選択になっていくように思います。結構企業でOpenOfficeとかいうところも増えてきているようですし。

実際にダウンロードしてみました。
前半はAppleの製品紹介のような感じ。iPodだけでなく、iPhoneなども紹介されています。絵を見るだけでも楽しいですね :D
中盤からiPodのチュートリアル。それほど難しい内容は書かれていませんでした。たとえば、スマートリストの作り方や、コーデックの変更方法などが60ページ近くに渡って書かれています。詳細見れば知らない事もあるかもしれません。
とりあえず、iPodの入門編にはいいかもしれませんね。
なぜ、この本が作られているのだろうと思い少し紹介元の分を読みました。

According to Moody, not all of the Youtube catalog will be available on day one. Instead, "thousands of videos designed for Apple TV" will be available at launch, but that the remainder will become available by the fall. The reason for the delay is that Youtube will be encoding all of their videos into a "H.264 streaming-efficient compression format" specifically for the Apple TV. All of Youtube's videos are currently encoded in Flash Video (FLV) format.
While no official reason is given for the mass transcoding of Youtube's entire catalog, Macformat.co.uk believes it has to do with the iPhone.As far as I know even now, Flash content per se might not play on the iPhone from day one. But Apple clearly doesn't – indeed, shouldn't – care, as YouTube is for many people the most critical site that uses Flash.
Indeed, both the iPod and iPhone can play H.264 encoded video, and so it seems the entire Youtube catalog may also become available to those devices later this year.

AppleTVでYoutubeが見れるようになったらしいです。
この「YouTube機能」は、6月半ばのソフトウェアアップデートを通じて無料で提供される予定。ユーザーは、YouTubeの動画をテレビ画面で視聴でき、Apple Remoteでコンテンツ検索も可能。YouTubeの会員は、Apple TVからYouTubeのアカウントにログインし、お気に入りに動画を保存することもできる。
サービス開始の時点では、YouTubeの人気コンテンツ数千件の視聴が可能。秋までには、すべてのYouTubeコンテンツがApple TV対応となる予定だという。Appleのスティーブ・ジョブズCEOは「YouTubeの動画を、リビングのソファから簡単に探したり見たりできるのは、これが初めて。これは、本当に本当に楽しいことだ」とコメントしている。
Appleは併せて、従来モデルの4倍となる容量160GバイトのApple TVを発表。価格は399ドルで、31日から発売となる。
そういえば、YoutubeってGoogle傘下になってたんですね。なんだか忘れてました。そういう意味ではAppleとGoogleの関係が一層濃くなっているような気がします。
数あるiPodのアクセサリでも利用価値があるのか分からないアクセサリーです。洗濯機の上にDOCKがつくようです。
前回、トイレでiPodを聞けるアクセサリーを紹介したのですが、それ以上です。

個人で音楽CDを所有している人に対して、データ変換を行う携帯電話で聞けるサービスをイメージシティという会社がMYUTAという名前でサービス提供していたようです。どうも、これが、違法と判決が出たそうです。

This has implications for other services such as Yahoo! Briefcase and Apple's .Mac, which could mean these companies are guilty of copyright infringement if any of their users in Japan store music in their accounts for personal use.

ストリーミングサイトでWMV用のDRMがかかっていて、Macで見れないという経験ありませんか？私はあります・・・。私自身試せてませんが、一応のご紹介。

SilverlightがMacサポートしてたみたいです。SilverlightはMSが作ったFLASHにとって変わる技術なんだそうな。意見は様々ですが、FLASHよりRICHで軽いと絶賛記事も多いです。MSがMacサポートをやめ気味だったご時世に本気なんだなぁという感想。
で、本題ですが、記事中に以下の一文を見つけました。
The last version of Windows Media Player that Microsoft developed for Macs was version 9 (nearly three years ago) while the most recent for Windows is version 11. The company now provides a download of Telestream’s Flip4Mac program available to Macintosh users, which provides Windows Media video and audio playback in the QuickTime Player but does not support content that is protected with Windows Media digital rights management.
Although Silverlight will not provide a way to play downloaded files in a standalone player like QuickTime Player or Windows Media Player, it looks to bring new support for streaming media to Mac browsers. This will be useful if more sites begin using Windows Media 11 files to stream audio and video.
SilverlightはQuickTImeやWMPのようにスタンドアロンでダウンロードは再生できないけども、Macブラウザに新しいストリーミングメディアを提供してくれる。
と、言っている内容は、Windows Media Player11で導入されているDRMを見る事と書かれているので、きっと見れるようになるんだと思います・・・。

数週間前から初代MacBookの電源周りに異変が起こっていることに気づきました。上のバーに出る電源マークが×になり、電源の認識が一切されなくなってしまいました。AC電源を常時接続して利用していたので、全く気づきませんでした。劣化したなら諦めもつきますが、認識しないとなるとトラブルです。
で、いろいろと情報を集めた結果、結構頻発している事がわかりました。

となっていました。要はMacBook、MacBookProユーザはほぼ全員です。ネット上を検索しただけでも、相当数の同じ症例で苦労されている方がいらっしゃいました。とりあえず、バッテリーだけは2年間に保障期間が延長されているようですが・・・。もしも、症例が出なかった方はどうするのでしょうか？ある意味リコールの対象ではと思ったり不満はありますが、とりあえずAppleStoreに持ち込みましょう。
AppleStore自体は何度か行ってますが、前回はiPodの修理で30分以上待たされました。その時に、自宅からもサポートの時間帯の予約が出来る事をしったので、早速試してみることに。
上記のリンクから、右下の方を見れば、店名を選択できるので私の場合、
心斎橋を選択。
ゲストを選択し、曜日と、時間、名前、メールアドレス等を入力すれば予約は完了。簡単です。
そのせいあって、予約した時間の5分前に着き、10分ほど待ってサポートを受ける事が出来ました。私が持って行ったのは、MacBook本体と保証書。これだけ。
Onlineで購入されていたのなら、本体だけでも確認が可能だったのかもしれませんが、一応。店員も心得たもので、本日2件目の電源交換ですと苦笑い気味。簡単に動作チェックして即電源交換。ものの10分程度ですべてが終わりました。
今回、たまたま分かり易い症例だったのですが、上記リンクの症例には、
などが上げられます。分かりにくい症例で苦しまれている方もいそうですね。
少し面倒ですが、AppleStoreに足を運べる方は運びましょう。後は電話して相談かです。
とりあえず、うちのMacBookも電源も一新し、今は元気で稼動中です！！
マイクロソフトの社員でもiPod所有者が隠れているらしい。
その対策。
本家/.の記事より。Microsoftの社内には、商売敵であるApple iPodのユーザが結構いるらしい。そこで、Zuneの開発チームが社内に「iPod恩赦箱」を設置したそうだ(ITworld.comの記事)。ここにiPodを捨てれば、今まで持っていたことは許してあげます、ということか。ちなみにこの写真はMSNBCの社員がFlickrに投稿したものだと言う。
もちろんジョークなのだろうが、結局旧型のiPodしか捨てられていないのが悲しい。
まぁ、ジョークの利く会社なのだろうかと思ってしまう。
うちの会社で見つかると情報漏えいだとかできっと騒然とするはずなんだがなぁ。というか、他所の製品なんていくつか持ってるよね・・・。今回に限れば、iPodとZuneだとiPodの方が先に発売されているでしょうし。
MacMiniが市場から消える日が近いかもしれません。

記事の内容は、アップルという会社は絶えず市場に製品が合致しているか、していないかを評価している。それは、犠牲者が出る必然的な方法論なのだ。(今回の記事訳しにくいので意訳しまくりです･･･)
といった感じ。MacMiniのリリースも通常製品ライフサイクルで当初は回っていたようですが、いざMacMiniとDockをひっつけて製品戦略を考えるころには、iTVと競合し、MacMiniに割くリソースも足らなくなってきた模様です。あと、元来、低価格でMac環境が手に入ると当初もてはやされていましたが、やはりAppleとしてのマージンも少なかったらしく生産中止が妥当という噂がたっているようです。
なんだか、なくなってしまうのは寂しい限りですね・・・。
今後はiTVを買ってハックして・・・という流れでMacのサーバ環境を楽しむのが主流になるのかもしれません。

A. 標準プラグイン「SpamLookup」がデフォルトで参照しているサーバーのひとつ、「opm.blitzed.org」が停止したため、コメントの投稿の際、非常に長い時間がかかったり、タイムアウトとなる現象が発生しています。

EMIがDRMなしで配信を始めるというのが少し前にも記事になりましたが、各社が続くでもなく、DRMの話は一服ついているようですね。
そういった中でこういった製品が出てくるというのは好感が持てます。

MacBookを持っている私も少しショックなニュースです。

AppleがMacBook,MacBookProを通して集団訴訟されたというタイトルのAppleInsiderの文は、広告の内容と事実が異なるために集団訴訟に発展していると書かれています。具体的に何が問題かというと、
Citations in the suit imply that the Apple notebooks may employ sub-par displays only capable of 6 bits per channel (18-bit color), rather than 8 bits per channel, making them capable of displaying only 262,144 colors without dithering, as opposed to millions. That would explain why within weeks of purchase, a flood of customers reported that their MacBook and MacBook Pro displays appeared "grainy" or "sparkly," according to the complaint.
ようするに、広告では100万色の表現力があると謳っているのに対して、実際に出力可能な発色数は26万色程度とのことです。で、それを補うためにディザリング技術を使って表示部分をぼかしたりしながら、人の錯覚で綺麗に見せていたようです。ただし、利用者からはぼやけた感じがする、明るすぎるといった不満が出ていたとか。
対象ですが、おそらく、MacBookとMacBookProすべてです。AppleInsiderの後ろにPDFがついており、訴えられている内容が事細かにかかれています。
私は画面の発色数などはぜんぜん気にせずに買ったので、特に結果は気になりませんが、PhotoShopなどのクリエーターさん達にとっては大変なことかもしれません。実際に自分で表現した写真や絵などが正確に表現されていないということにも、なりかねません。
とはいえ、こういった事件も訴訟国家のアメリカだからなのかもしれませんが。
MicrosoftUpdateを行うとWindows上のCPUが100％で張り付く自称が発生しました orz。なにやらsvchostが邪魔をしているとしかわかりませんでした。

実施に事が起こったときにはタスクマネージャーをみていたわけですが、
残念ながら何の解決にもなりませんでした・・・。
VirusバスターかWindowsアップデートか・・・と検討をつけていたから解決できた
わけです。
で、もう少しWindows上で動作するプロセスの詳細が見れないかと思い、探してみたところありました。

モバイル用途の話は最近、耳にするようになりましたがなんだか現実味を帯びてきましたかね。
ちなみに出荷があるとしても、2007年後半か、2007年前半という話です。

先日のiPodの無線LAN化の話などとも繋がるかもしれません。AppleがiPod,iTV,iPhoneなどを単一的なインタフェースで操作出来るするようにする機器を出すのでは？という話です。
The modules could be any sort of media device - such as an iPod, DVD player, or HD DVD player. The central multimedia hub would coordinate and consolidate all the devices under one user interface.
単一のインタフェース(FrontRowのような)でiPodの音楽を聴いたり、iTVの映像を見たり、DVD見たり出来るのでは？という内容の特許のようです。
また、コントローラにはiPhoneが利用されるのでは？という憶測が飛んでいたりします。
これが製品化され、サードパーティまで巻き込んで展開されると、マルチメディア分野の家電業界は少々青くなるかもしれませんね・・・。
日本ではiPodの基盤がメインのため、それほど魅力を感じませんが、iTV,iPod,iPhoneを持っていて相互の機器の楽曲のやりとり、再生、操作などが出来ると思うと便利な事、この上ない機器になりそうです。

どうも、外部出力に接続して、スティックを打つとドラムっぽい音が出るようです。どうしているかは定かでありませんが、ハイハットやシンバルも打ち分けれるようです。部屋空間が狭い方にはお勧めかもしれませんね :D
Windows Vistaの話ですが、以前もどこぞで話に上がっていた、仮想化してWindowsを動作させるなら、Vistaの上位バージョンご購入頂きますという話。

Zuneが無線LAN対応の話は聞いてましたが、CreativeやSandisk,Samsungではすでにコンセプトベースで出ているのですねぇ。iPodも色々な製品の後追いになっている感が否めないですね。iPhoneにリソース使いすぎたせいでLeopardの出荷が遅れているという話もありましたし・・・。
とりあえず、他社より遅れて出すわけですし、"Appleにしか出来ない物"を出して欲しいです。とはいえ、iTunesとの同期とiPod間での楽曲の共有が出来ればそれで満足な自分がいたりするのですが。
同様の製品がSilexから出ていました。しかし、今回はCreativeからの登場です。

iPodがWirelessになれば、便利だろーなーと思う機会多いので結構惹かれます。ただ、2万4800円だせばiPodが新しくなると思うとなかなか踏み切れないのも実情だったりするのですが・・・

Appleは音楽の提供形態が買いきり/売り切りでサービス展開を行ってきました。
これは、Appleが主張していたことであり、実際に世界各国で行われてきました。
さて、映画やTVになると不正コピーを行われることを嫌ってか、買いきりでiTMS
で出すなんとまかりならんといった状態です。そんな中で以下のようなニュース。

“I think Apple is seriously considering a subscription offering right now even though they will probably tell you otherwise,”
Appleがサブスクリプションサービスを計画という見出しで、Appleが6ヶ月以内に映画やTVコンテンツに対して、真剣にサブスクリプションでのサービス提供を考えているとの事です。
YahooやReal,Napsterでは成功しているみたいですが、売り上げや利用者を考えると相容れないのではないか？ということで記事が締めくくられています。サブスクリプションになると、コンテンツを持ち歩く際に支障が出ないか気になる点ですかね。とりあえず、6ヶ月以内という噂なので、もう少し様子見でしょうか。
数少ない、Skypeを携帯ぽい端末で利用できるロジテックから発売されているLAN-WSPH01WHがFON対応したそうです。

ロジテックは4月4日、Skype専用の無線LAN携帯端末「LAN-WSPH01WH」用のファームウェア提供を開始した。
LAN-WSPH01WHは、IP電話サービス「Skype」用となるIEEE802.11b/g対応の無線LAN端末で、内蔵の1.8インチ液晶ディスプレイによりPC用のSkypeに近いインタフェースを実現、単体でSkypeを利用することが可能となっている。
今回のアップデートによるファームウェアのバージョンは1.0.0.17F1Pで、新たにフォン･ジャパン提供の無線LAN共有サービス「FON」に対応。「FONアカウント」を簡単に登録できる設定メニューが追加されている。
これは、いい流れですね。Skypeにも利用料金が基本的にはかからないのは勿論ですが、FONに加入しており、FONメンバーのAPを見つければ、利用勝手が確実に向上しそうです。
FONの提供エリアはこのあたりから適宜検索してください。やっぱり、地方ではまだそれほど流行ってないなぁという印象ですが。
HMDはヘッドマウントディスプレーです。あしからず。

それ以前にVideoiPodじゃないし :P
使い勝手は通常のめがねは３０ｇ？程度なのに対し、この製品は100g程度。少し重く感じるかもしれません。
このメガネを掛けると購入した製品サポートしてくれるとか、家電が購入出来るとか・・・そういうのがいいかもしれません。いや、英会話か・・・。これなら残念な事件が起こることもないわけですから・・・。
とまぁ、しめっぽくなってしまいましたが、気になる価格は、

Mac上で動作するGoogleDesktopの利用者意見として以下のように書かれているサイトを発見しました。

それはそうと、Google Desktop for Mac。起動が非常に速いですね。Spotlightの10倍くらいは速いです。これはたしかに便利かも。それに、日本語もインライン変換されるし。
ん？案外使えるのか？
とりあえず、帰宅したら入れてみることにします。。。
納得。BSDと引っ付いてから私もMacに興味持ちましたし :D
Web2.0とオープンソースの相性の良さは様々なところで語られている。あえて乱暴にWeb2.0の最大の特徴を挙げるなら共同作業ということになるだろうか。オープンソースはそもそもネットを介した共同作業を前提としたものだ。オープンソースと親和性が高い，BSDを母とするOS XのMacが，2.0のキーパーソンに愛されるのはある意味では当然のことなのかもしれない。
GoogleDesktopのMacバージョンがβ版で出たみたいです。英語版なので日本語の精度は分かりませんが。

Spotlightの機能と類似・・・ですよね。OSネイティブに搭載されている機能があるのに、わざわざGoogleDesktop入れますか？

Windowsでは会社のパソコン含めて利用してますが、Macでは・・・な気分です。私は。
大手、レコードレーベルのEMIがDRM無しの楽曲提供を試しにやってみるという話。
朝一の番組で小倉さんがこの話題を取り上げていたので少々びっくりしましたが。。。

つまりは、DRM付きは99セントだけども、DRMなしは音質倍程度にしてあげるから1.29＄ちょうだいねという話になっているようです。普通に考えれば、DRMの手間ないんだから安くなるはずだと思ってしまいます。
最近は音楽プレーヤーもそうですが、HDDプレーヤーでもTVでもゲーム機でさえもMP3などの音楽ファイルを期待している環境も出てきていますので、便利っちゃー便利になると思いますが。

ビートルズの話が入ってませんが、非DRMの対象外といった話をどこかで見ました。
あと、項目中には、CDセールスが将来的には陰りが見えるから、こっちで生きていけるか見てみるといった内容もあります。加えて、携帯電話に搭載するのにDRM邪魔だよねとか言ってたり。
iTMS上では今年末までに半分の楽曲でDRMを取り払いたいといった予定だそうです。
Mac版のOffice2008が出来上がりつつあるようです。

他には、IntelアーキテクチャへのBnaryが出るようなので、Intelな方は購入価値があるのかもしれません。従来のものが対応していない問題というのもありますが・・・。
発売日程は2007年の末になりそうだとのことです。
とりあえず、自身でParallelsをレジストしてみました :D
Mac上で複数ユーザを作成している場合などで、Windows環境を共有する方法など少してこずりましたが、現在動作しています。
簡単に書くと、インストール時にRecommendでないインストール方法であるCustomを選択し、途中で聞かれるインストール先で/User/Share/Library/Parallelsとかにインストールしておきます。あとは、普通にWIndowsXPをインストールを行います。インストール後に、パーミッションを他のユーザからも参照出来るように /User/Share/Library/Parallelsのディレクトリを適当に変えます。
＃面倒なので私は chmod 777 /User/Share/Library/Parallelsとか適当にやってしまいました・・・。
それで、他の利用者もCustomインストールを選択し、新規インストールでなく、既存のディスクイメージを選択っぽい項目をチェックし先に進むと問題なく利用が可能です。
ちなみに、私が購入したのは英語バージョンです。
英語版でも、日本語版のXPがサクサク動いていますよ :D
あと、デモ版からはアクティベーションを入れることで何も変更せずに移行が完了できましたので、デモ版から始めてもOKだと思います。
オフィスを少し使いましたが、驚いたのは、Mac上にあるJpeg画像などを直接Windows用のワードなんかにドロップしたら、画像がそのまま挿入されました！！
すごいシームレスです！
OfficeとGyao以外は特に利用方法はないんですが、とりあえず満足な環境になりました！！
iTMSで過去に楽曲を購入したとしても、アルバムを購入する際には買いなおしが常でしたが、Complete MyAlbumで改定されるようです。

どうも、999セントのアルバムが存在した場合に、３曲手元に持っていると、アルバム全体は999セント－297セント＝702セントで購入が出来るというサービスのようです。期限は最初の楽曲を購入してから180日以内ということです。iTunesで楽曲を購入すると、アルバムを購入するとどうなるのか？といったページが見れるらしいです。
兼ねてよりこのあたりで噂になっていた機能が実装されたということのようです。
PowerPCとIntelのMacで利用が可能なオープンソースのOfficeスイートであるNeoOffice2.1がリリースされてました。

VistaでiPodを利用する際にハードウェアの安全な取り外し機能を利用してiPodをはずすと、iPodが破壊されるという事象が発生していたようです。

マイクロソフトは27日、Windows Vista用の更新プログラム（KB933824）を公開した。「ハードウェアの安全な取り外し」機能を使ってiPodを取り外すと、iPod内のデータが破損する可能性がある問題を修正した。x64版もあわせて公開している。
この問題は、Windows Vistaにおいて、USB接続したiPodを取り外す際に、OSの「ハードウェアの安全な取り外し」機能またはエクスプローラを使った場合に発生する可能性があったという。
このため、マイクロソフトとAppleではこれまで、Windows VistaでiPodを安全に取り外すためには、iTunesのコントロールメニューから操作する方法で行なうことを勧めていた。
ということです。とりあえず、更新プログラムを適用しましょう。WindowsVistaな方は。
AppleTVでXviDとかのフォーマットを見る方法が紹介されていました。あと、SSHサーバとしても動作させる事が出来るようですね。中身はMacOSなのでこのあたりの事は案外苦労せずに出来そうな感じですね。

基本はQuickTimeと同じ方法だったと記憶していますが、方法は以下のようにすると良いらしいです。
1. Open it up (4 screws on the bottom, small Torx bit)
2. Put the 2.5" drive into a USB enclosure or whatever you want
3. Mount the HFS filesystem
4. Install Perian in /Library/Quicktime (as you normally would)
5. Install Dropbear (or enable SSH if you know how... we gave up and used Dropbear)
6. Add a startup script to disable the firewall or open up the ports you need for SSH
7. Put the drive back in and boot it, ssh login as frontrow, password frontrow (or add an ssh key for yourself)
8. Use a reference movie (use QT Pro to save a reference movie) to bootstrap your xvid file
結局は/Library/Quicktimeに必要なプラグインファイルをコピーするだけです。
SSHはDropbearというソフトをインストールして動作させているようです。
色々とハックネタが出てきそうですね。

Googleが携帯電話を作るのかもという話。

という話。記事の下のほうには、AppleとGoogleのアライアンスにヒビが入るのでは？との憶測も飛んでいます。ただし、具体的なデバイス案はまだ出てないようです。PCの無い人向けにも検索機能を提供するというスタンスだと思うのですが、Googleが作るのであれば面白いものが出来そうですね。

同社はポータブルオーディオプレーヤー「ZENシリーズ」など、iPodの競合機種となる製品をリリースしているメーカーとしても知られている。今年1月の米CESで、iPod用ワイヤレスドッキングソリューション「Xdock」を発表し、今回の製品発売でiPod周辺機器開発に本格参入することとなった。同社は今後、iPodと同時にMac用のソリューションも展開していく予定という。
市場としては一人がちということで、今後、こういった矛盾と感じるような動きも出てくるのかもしれませんね。

RFIDによるネットワーク設定なるものは、AirPort Extreme Base Stationのようなルータシステムに関して記述されています。ルータは、暗号化や認証のための情報を含む、ネットワーク設定情報を持つRFIDのトランシーバ機能を装備しています。
とのことなので、無線APにRFIDのタグを貼り付けてWEPの情報なんかを先に設定させるんでしょうね。もしくは、変更したら、RFIDにもかかれるのかも。リーダの機能をMacBookなどのクライアントPCにつければ、無線の自動設定出来上がりというわけです。Appleさん、MacBookだけじゃないですよね？iPodやiPhoneも考えてますよね？？おそらく :D。

私個人的な意見ですが、iTunesがアップデートされると以前購入した楽曲が聴けなくなる問題などを良く見るので少し、様子見してから導入することにします :P
はて、iPodの機能が更新されずに、製品サイクルから見ても遅く感じる今日この頃ですが、以下のような噂が上がってきているようです。
